Ask Katherine : 25 Things You Didn't Know About Me
Hey Y’all!
Happy Monday! I am typically not the best at sharing things about myself on social media, so I thought it might be fun to just put a whole bunch of fun facts into one blog post for ya! I personally love reading these types of posts, so I hope you enjoy finding out some new facts about yours truly! Let’s get started, shall we?
1. I am 26 years old, and an April baby! April 16th to be exact ;) Sometimes my birthday even falls on Easter day.
2. The Other Woman is one of my favorite movies that I can watch over and over again! If you haven't seen it, you have to!
3. I grew up in a small town in the middle of Amish country, and my first move consisted of moving across the cul-de-sac. Our one set of neighbors remained our neighbors, but we just moved to the other side of their house. I remember carrying our items across the street to our new home.
4. I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park with my dad in 2010. That was definitely one of the coolest things I have ever done and am able to say that I did!

5. I went to college for Photography and graduated with a degree. I shot some of my first weddings while in college and from then on, knew that I wanted to be in the wedding industry.
6. After graduating college, I moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where I worked under a local photographer. Some of my fondest memories are from my time in Virginia and I still remain in touch with friends and enjoy revisiting my favorite little town!
7. Some of you may know this already, but I love to hunt! I always grew up shooting with my dad, but never had the opportunity to hunt until I met my hubby, Waylen. I may have had a serious case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and wanted to see what all of this talk of hunting was about after a year or two of staying put in the cabin, so I decided to give it a try and I harvested my first doe in 2015 and have been hooked ever since!

8. I have a super broad taste in music, but country music will always be my favorite! 80’s country and red dirt is the way to my heart!
9. I love all things Western and have been super inspired lately with the western style for decor, lifestyle, and clothing!
10. I love all things corgis and llamas! And really any quirky or mini sized animal ;) I always joke with Waylen that I want to have a “mini farm” someday with all the fun sized animals.
11. I named my corgi, Dolly after one of my favorite country singers, Dolly Parton! But most days we just call Dolly- Puppy Dog haha.
12. I have been deemed a whole bunch of nicknames- Zelly, Kat, Toots, Tootie Pie, Baby Doll, and my personal favorite (sarcastically- its definitely not my favorite) given to me by my high school friends and still said by my wonderful brothers in law - Kathy.
13. I love a good Pickle Back! If you don't know what that is, its a shot of Jameson with a chaser of pickle juice. Sounds gross, tastes delicious!
14. My husband Waylen is named after the late, great outlaw country singer, Waylon Jennings. How’s that for keeping things country around here?
15. I love chocolate and sweets! So much so, that I will take handfuls of chocolate chips from the bag whenever I am in the kitchen. My friends just recently gifted me a 4lb bag and I’m in heaven!
16. Notes, Cards, and Snail Mail are the way to my heart! I look forward to taking the walk down our driveway and checking the mail box each day! It’s an extra special day when there is more than just bills inside ;)
17. I love all things fuzzy! Fuzzy blankets, fuzzy socks, fuzzy sweaters, fuzzy animals… I feel like Elf talking about candy as a food group!
18. Home Goods is my happy place! Much to Waylen’s despair ;)
19. I have played soccer for most of my life, and still do so on an indoor team! But I also ran cross country in high school.
20. I love to play card games! Rummy, Haus, and Skip-Bo have been my favorites lately!
21. I’m a summer gal through and through, but fall has slowly been creeping into my favorite time of year! Can you say hunting season?! ;)
22. Waylen and I got engaged over New Year’s Weekend in 2017 and married 4 months later!
